Sketching
in front of your subject will almost certainly help you improve your
painting. Water-soluble graphite is an ideal medium for sketching out
of doors. It can strengthen your drawing and allow you to add subtle
tones. Water-soluble graphite can be used in two ways; you can lay the
tone on dry paper, then with a wet brush manipulate the marks to create
stronger definition or you can wet the paper first and apply the graphite
wet into wet to create subtle effects. In her new DVD Jenny demonstrates
in live action these two methods of using water-soluble graphite out
of doors. |
