Data Protection – GDPR and your data.

You may be aware that new data protection legislation known as General Data Protection Regulation rules (GDPR) will become effective from 25th May 2018.

We have been registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under existing data protection legislation since it became law in 1998 and have always taken protection of your personal information very seriously.

Currently there are four areas of our business that stores customer data.

  1. If you are subscribed to the David Bellamy or Jenny Keal blogs then your email address is stored on our website. The website is hosted on a remote server which is protected by standard protocol internet security. You can unsubscribe from this list at any time and your data will be removed.
  2. If you purchase an item from our shop and register an account your name, address, telephone number and email address and purchase history is stored on a remote server which is protected by standard protocol internet security. You can remove your account at any time by emailing me at jennykeal@gmail.com and I will permanently delete all your personal details and purchase history.
  3. I also record names and addresses of customers who attend courses, purchase items from our shop and attend exhibitions, in a database on my personal computer in order to keep a record of purchases, course attendance and exhibition attendance to assist customers who may need this information for future reference. This database is protected with firewalls, Kaspersky internet security software and encrypted passwords. You can remove your account at any time by emailing me at jennykeal@gmail.com and I will permanently delete all your personal details and purchase/course/exhibition history.
  4. From time to time I send out a circular email using a third party system called Mailchimp. This type of email marketing requires customers to ‘OPT IN’.  If you are subscribed to this list you will receive an email explaining how to remain on the list and receive our information emails in the future. You can also unsubscribe from this list using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter we send you
